Certification Introduction
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) of South Korea announced on August 25, 2008 that the National Standards Committee of South Korea will implement a new national unified mark, namely the "KC" mark, from July 2009 to December 2010. The "KC" mark means" Korea Certification ". The KC certification is the safety certification system for electronic and electrical products in South Korea. It is a mandatory SAFETY certification system implemented by the Korea Institute of Standards and Technology (KATS) on January 1, 2009 in accordance with the ELECTRIC APPLIANCES SAFETY CONTROL ACT.

To avoid duplicate certification, starting from July 1, 2012, EMC and Safety are managed separately. For all electronic and electrical products applying for Korean certification, KC certificates and KCC certificates (new MSIP) must be obtained respectively in accordance with their Safety (Safety) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. There are two qualification Certification institutions for KC certification: Korea Testing Certification (KTC) and Korea Electrical Testing Institute (KTL). These two institutions are not only the certification bodies of KC but also the qualification testing laboratories.
In terms of safety standards, all products entering the South Korean market must comply with the South Korean safety standard K (similar to the IEC standard). When using the IEC standard, the requirements of South Korea must be met. The national differences can be found in the announcements of the IECEE CB system. In terms of EMC, the EMI standard in South Korea is similar to the CISPR standard, and the EMS standard is similar to the EN standard.
Classification of Certification systems
Applicable product range
The product range of KC certification generally includes electrical products from AC50 volts and above to 1000 volts and below. In addition, except for products that must obtain safety certification, self-regulatory safety confirmation must be applied for.

The differences between KC certification and KCC certification in South Korea
KCC is a mandatory certification for IT information, telecommunications and RF wireless products in the South Korean market, including electromagnetic compatibility testing, telecommunications testing and RF testing, etc. The Korea Broadcasting and Communications Commission has authorized the Korea Radio Research Institute (RRA) as the KCC certification body. Starting from January 1, 2011, the original KCC logo of South Korea will be uniformly converted to KC. Therefore, the certification logo used for KCC certification and KC certification is the same. The difference is that the KCC certification logo will have the KCC ID number below it.
KC nameplate requirements
The KC nameplate must include the following contents:
①KC mark (including certificate number SUxxxxxxxx)
② Product name (must be expressed in Korean)
③ Model Name
④ Voltage frequency
⑤ Factory Name
⑥ Manufacturing country
⑦ Double insulation mark "Return" (if required)
⑧ Date and Year of Production
⑨A/S after-sales service phone number (must be in South Korea)
