Certification introduction

The full name of the FCC is the Federal Communications Commission, Chinese for the United States Federal Communications Commission. Established in 1934 by the Communications Act, it is an independent agency of the United States government, directly accountable to Congress. The FCC coordinates national and international communications by controlling radio, television, telecommunications, satellites and cables. Involving more than 50 states in the United States, Columbia and the United States to ensure the safety of radio and wire communication products related to life and property, the FCC's Engineering and Technology Department is responsible for the technical support of the Commission and is responsible for equipment approval. Many radio application products, communications products and digital products to enter the U.S. market, all require FCC approval.

Authentication type

On November 2, 2017, the FCC merged DoC and Verification into Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC). SDoC certification will replace FCC Verification and DoC certification procedures, and will be available on all devices that are subject to FCC Verification and DoC certification procedures.

The FCC is divided into two different Certification methods for the types of electronic products, respectively: FCC SDoC and FCC ID (Certification), the former is suitable for ordinary products without wireless function, the latter is suitable for products with wireless function.

FCC Part 15 provides for intentional, unintentional, or transient launch equipment that does not require an individual license for use. It includes technical specifications, administrative requirements and other market access conditions. Products are mainly divided into four categories: unintentional launch equipment, intentional launch equipment, personal communication equipment without a license, and basic information equipment in countries without a license.


FCC Part 18 regulates electromagnetic energy emitted by industrial, scientific, and medical devices (ISM) operating on a certain spectrum to avoid harmful interference with authorized wireless communications services.

Application process

1. The customer submits the application form to the testing institution;
2, the customer is ready to test the sample (wireless products need fixed frequency machine), and provide product information (see data requirements);
3, the testing agency issued a draft report, customer confirmation, issue a formal report;
4. If it is FCC sDoC, the project is completed; If it is to apply for FCC ID, submit the report and technical data to TCB;
5, TCB audit completed the issuance of FCC ID certificate, the testing agency to send a formal report, FCC ID certificate;
6, after obtaining FCC certification, the company can use the FCC logo and related statements on the product;
Note: Manufacturers who apply for FCC ID certification for the first time need to register FCC-FRN with the FCC to establish the application company file, and the certificate issued after the completion of the TCB audit will have the FCC ID number. The FCC ID is usually composed of "Grantee code" + "Product code".
Manufacturer code: three digits or capital letters, issued directly by the FCC;
Product code: consists of numbers, letters and "-", but there can be no two or more consecutive "-" used, the first and last digit can not be used "-", the maximum number of digits of this code is not more than 14, the number can be customized by the customer.

Note: The list of documents and requirements for FCC ID certification are as follows:
(1) FCC application form: the application company name, address, contact information, product name and model, use standards and other information requirements are accurate;
(2) FCC authorization letter: to be signed and stamped by the company's contact person and scanned into an electronic file;
(3) FCC confidentiality letter: The confidentiality letter is the agreement signed between the applicant company and the TCB agency on the confidentiality of product information, which should be signed and stamped by the contact person of the application company and scanned into an electronic file;
(4) Block diagram: It is necessary to draw all the crystal vibration, as well as the crystal frequency, and keep consistent with the circuit diagram;
(5) Circuit diagram: must be consistent with the crystal frequency, crystal number and crystal position in the block diagram;
(6) Line description: the requirements are in English, and the functional realization principle of the product is described clearly;
(7) Instruction manual: an FCC Statement is required;
(8) Label and label location: the label should have an FCC ID number and Statement, and the location of the label should be significant;
(9) Photos of the appearance of the product: the pictures are required to be clear and clear, and remarks are added if necessary;
(10) Test report: require the test to be completed and comprehensively evaluate the product according to the standard terms;
