The OHAS 18001 standard, which currently provides an internationally recognized health and safety management system, is being revised and incorporated into the new ISO 45001 standard.

Migration - What to do next

For organizations that have passed the OHSAS 18001 certification, there will be a three-year migration period to enable them to update the system to the new standard. If you have recently transitioned to ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 14001:2015, you will be familiar with the new format. This uses Annex SL to provide a universal structure that can integrate multiple standards more smoothly and quickly.

One of the top priorities we suggest is to conduct a gap analysis to determine the changes you need to make to your management system to meet the new standards.

Starting in advance before you have to obtain the new standard certification will give you sufficient time to change the current process. Start preparing:

Obtain a copy of the new standard and study the major changes.

Develop training and awareness plans for all relevant management teams.

Improve the risk management plan.

Consider the gap analysis to determine the required changes.

Make senior management personnel responsible for the management system.

Consider combining other management system standards with ANNEX SL.

One advantage of migrating to the ISO platform is that it will comply with other general management systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Both of these systems have recently been revised to provide new advanced structures/formats.

The date of the business license of the institution exceeds three months

The address on the business license of the production enterprise is consistent with the address for on-site review

 Have corresponding industry qualification certificates (such as: production license,3C certificate, gas appliance production license, engineering construction permit certificate, etc.)

The business license should have the corresponding or similar business scope as indicated in the application certificate
