Project Introduction

Waterproof testing is suitable for electrical and electronic products that may suffer from flushing during transportation, storage or use. These waters are derived from heavy rainstorms, wind-blown rains, sprinkler systems, wheel splashes, flushing or violent waves. The relevant specifications should specify in detail whether electrical and electronic products must work normally during the test period or can only withstand flush conditions and remain intact.

There are waterproof testing requirements for portable, outdoor use and automotive electronics. Internationally, whether IEC, MIL, ETSI and SAE have corresponding testing requirements.

Dust-proof test is used to test the test of electrical and electronic products, automobile and motorcycle parts, and seals to prevent sand and dust from entering the seal and shell in a sand and dust environment, and to determine the impact of sand and dust suspended in the air on the product. To test the performance of electronic and electrical products, automobiles, motorcycle parts and seals in sand and dust environments

Waterproof grade

IEC/EN60529 waterproofing is divided into 9 levels (level 0 ~ level 8), waterproofing level (eg IPX4-waterproofing level 4):
Level 0: Completely waterproof and unprotected
Level 1: Drops in vertical direction should have no harmful effects
Level 2: When the vertical surfaces of the shell are inclined within 15°, vertical dripping should have no harmful effects
Level 3: Spray water in each vertical surfaces within 60°, no harmful effects
Level 4: Spray water in all directions of the shell without harmful effects
Level 5: Spray water in all directions of the shell without harmful effects
Level 6: Spray water in all directions of the shell without harmful effects
Level 7: After immersion in water at specified pressure, the water inlet of the shell will not reach the harmful effects
Level 8: According to the conditions agreed by both the manufacturer and the user (severely stricter than Level 7) the water inlet in the shell will not reach the harmful level after continuous diving.

Dust protection level

IEC/EN60529 dust protection is divided into 7 levels (level 0 ~ level 6), dust protection level (eg IP5X-dust protection level 5)
Level 0: Completely no dust protection
Level 1: It can protect foreign objects with diameters greater than 50mm falling into the equipment
Level 2: It can protect foreign objects with diameters greater than 12.5mm falling into the equipment
Level 3: It can protect foreign objects with diameters greater than 2.5mm falling into the equipment
Level 4: It can protect foreign objects with diameters greater than 1.00mm falling into the equipment
Level 5: It cannot completely prevent dust from entering, but the amount of dust entering shall not affect the normal operation of the equipment and shall not affect safety
