Certification introduction
Japan's certification for radio frequency equipment is called Radio Equipment Type Approval. The official control agency is the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan. The main certification agency is TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center) designated by MIC, and there are 12 certification agencies such as RF Technologies/JQA/SGS/ITS/TUV/UL, etc., so it is usually called TELEC certification. Some people also call it MIC certification, RF certification, GITEKI certification, and technical appropriate certification, similar to domestic SRRC certification.
TELEC certification complies with Japan's Radio Law, and the specific testing specifications comply with the MIC (Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Affairs) Notice No.88 regulations. According to the requirements of Japan's Radio Wave Law, the production, sales and operation of wireless equipment in Japan must comply with the technical regulations approved by the MIC, and a forced application for a radio equipment for a model approval certificate (i.e., TELEC certification).

Basic information on TELEC certification
Is it mandatory: Mandatory certification

Instructions for TELEC certification, GITEKI certification, MIC certification and MARK technical certification
·TELEC certification and GITEKI certification
The full name of Japan's TELEC is TELECom Engineering Center. It is the issuing agency of the Radio Wave Law recognized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Affairs of Japan. In 2014, the TELEC agency also obtained the certification qualification of the Electrical Communications Law. Now, in simple terms, TELEC certification is equivalent to GITEKI certification.
·TELEC certification and MIC certification
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is the abbreviation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in the English name. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is the regulatory body of Japan's "Radio Wave Law" and "Electrical Communications Law". In layman's terms, MIC certification is equivalent to TELEC certification.
·TELEC certification and MARK technology certification
After passing TELEC certification, the product can be printed with the GITEKI logo. GITEKI comes from the Japanese name for certification: "Technical Appropriate" and Japanese characters are spelled by GITEKI, so GITEKI certification is also called technical and appropriate certification. GITEKI certification and technical and technical and technical certification are just different names.
Certification classification
Type certification refers to the verification of samples from a batch of equipment that are also designed and manufactured. This certification is valid for the batch of equipment, but if the design or manufacturing of the equipment changes, the equipment will need to be re-certified.
It is worth noting that the use of non-low power radio stations and their terminal equipment requires a license from the MIC. In addition, there are two types of compliance certification for telecommunications terminal equipment:
· For ordinary telephone devices, JATE certification is only required according to the requirements of the Telecommunications Agency Law;
· For wireless terminal equipment, in addition to JATE certification as required according to the requirements of the Telecommunications Agency Law, TELEC certification is also required according to the requirements of the Radio Law.
Applicable product scope
Application process
2. The testing agency reviews the data and tests the samples initially
3. The testing agency formally applies to the agency recognized by the MIC of the General Affairs Department
4. The institution reviews the documents
5. Sample testing, and provides a test report (can be tested by an authorized laboratory)
6. After the documents and test reports are passed, Japan MIC issuance certificate
Application materials
2. Quality management system statement
3. Quality control confirmation letter method or manufacturer ISO 9001 certificate
4. Construction guarantee confirmation letter
5. Rated power statement
6. Antenna report
7. Test report includes test results, test setup photos and inspections conducted)
8. Block diagram, schematic diagram, material list, part placement, IC data sheet, internal and external photos, product description, user manual, operation/technical instructions, accessories instructions)
9. Label information label location, label content)
10. If you are an agent or authorized representative of the manufacturer, you also need a letter/authorized letter
Certification Fees
The fees of TELEC certification vary according to the product and function. For example, the product has Bluetooth, WIFI function, 2.4GHz function, and the fees are different. Even the single-mode and dual-mode Bluetooth are different. Specific TELEC certification fees need to be evaluated and quoted. Most of the TELEC certification quotes for common products start from 10,000 yuan.

Bluetooth and WIFI product testing requirements
Test certification is for each device unit, which is valid for only every verified device unit; the test items of WiFi and Bluetooth products are basically similar to the European standard EN300 328. Among them, the standard used by 2.4GHz WiFi products (802.11b/g, 2412~2472 MHz) and Bluetooth products are MIC Notice No.88 Annex43, but for 2.4GHz WiFi products 14 channels (Channel 14: 2471~2497MHz) need to be tested and issued by Annex44 alone, and the corresponding fees also need to be increased. The test standard followed by 5GHz WiFi products (802.11a, 5180~5320MHz, W52 Band and W53 Band) is Annex45, but it should be noted that the data shows that MIC will modify Annex45 in the near future, and also classify 5.6GHz devices (Band W56) into Annex45, and there are more stringent DFS testing requirements for the Band 56 band.
