UN38.3 certification introduction
UN38.3 refers to Section 38.3 on lithium battery testing in the "Manual of Tests and Criteria" prepared by the United Nations Expert Committee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.
UN38.3 is a battery safety performance test report. It conducts a full set of safety performance tests on various types of batteries in accordance with various domestic and international standards, ensuring the quality and safety of products for battery manufacturers, meeting all standards and enhancing export capabilities.
The UN38.3 test is a mandatory inspection carried out to ensure that lithium batteries can be safely transported by air and sea.
2) The Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued the "Regulations on the Air Transport of Lithium Batteries" to all air transport companies, clearly stipulating that lithium batteries must undergo UN38.3 testing in laboratories recognized by CNAS before air and sea transportation. Airlines can only accept and transport lithium batteries after receiving the UN38.3 qualification report and transportation appraisal certificate of the lithium batteries.
UN38.3 certified product range
UN38.3 mainly targets battery products, such as: lithium-ion batteries (such as mobile phone batteries, laptop batteries, digital product batteries, etc.), lithium metal batteries (such as iron lithium batteries, button batteries), nickel-hydrogen/nickel-cadmium batteries, alkaline batteries, large lithium power batteries, lead-acid batteries, other types of chemical batteries and battery cells.
